Our garden
Milparinka’s garden is located at our main site in Brunswick and provides open space for people who use our services to enjoy and to pursue their interests outdoors. Since we first dug up our backyard lawn in September 2015, the garden has grown from a patch of grass to an abundant garden with fruit trees, perennial vegetables, herbs, and flowers.
The garden continues to evolve as the people we support direct us on how they want to use the garden to try new things and meet new people through gardening or just enjoying a meal outside with someone new.
EVENTS
Being part of our community is important to us and we like to run community events when we can.
In the past, we’ve run Soup Fest in Winter and a garage sale in Spring.
Running community events is a way for us to welcome people in to see what we do and who we are, and a great opportunity for us to meet new people and make new connections.
food dehydrator
Milparinka supports our local community by processing food waste in an industrial food dehydrator from enrich360.
The dehydrator processes 20 tons of food waste a year, converting it into usable garden fertilizer which is distributed back to our community.
